Back at the time that Bruce Lee had been demonstrating his Kung Fu Skills at the karate show that has been hosted by Ed Parker that took place at Long Beach in the month of July of nineteen sixty-four, A man named Jay Sebring was looking at everything that was happening on stage. He was among the audience. He was the person who owned the Beverly Hills Hail Salon and he had been training with Ed. The things that Bruce Lee showed during the tournament that day had impressed him too. He was amazed and shocked. Jay had a lot of clients and one of them was William Dozier. He was a TV producer and he was very famous for the movie Gun-smoke and Perry Mason. One time when he was a t the salon for a hair-cut he mentioned while he was speaking that he was looking for an actor who could play the role of Charlie Chan in the newest movie that he was working on. So that was going to be a series about a detective that was Chinese. And then Jan said that he had a friend that could play the role perfectly and he promised that he would get in touch with Bruce Lee and would tell him about the part. If he was somewhat interested, they would invite him for a casting to see whether he was suitable for the role or not.

On 1st of February of the following year, the year of nineteen sixty-five, at the East Oakland Hospital, Linda had a baby. That was a boy. The named him Brandon Brice Lee. After three days and three night, during which he had not a chance to sleep even for a little bit, he was standing at the 20th Century Fox studio to take part in a test screen for the role that he might be suitable for the movie Charlie Chan. Actually it was going to be TV Series. In a very luxurious classical living room there was a chair in the middle of the room and there was a man, sitting there, he had a black suit on and it seemed that the suit was too small for him. He also had a white shirt and a black tie that had a ting knot on the upper part. His hair was not long and he brushed it very neatly. He was sitting with his legs very close together, in fact they were crossed and his arms were crossed too. He was smiling very nervously. He was a very quiet man who could not assume anything and his face was rather chubby. Then suddenly, he looked somewhere to his left. There was darkness in there and from that direction the voice of the instructor ordered to introduce himself, to tell what his name was look into the camera a tell his age and the place of his birth. He looked in the camera very nervously and said that his name was Bruce. He was Bruce Lee. He was born in California and he said that at that period of time he was twenty-four years old. Then the Instructor asked him whether he was a part of motion pictures in China. And he agreed saying that he was participating in those since his childhood, since the time that he was six years old. And then wanted to know when he left Hong Kong. And Bruce Lee responded that he left China in nineteen fifty-nine at the age of eighteen. And then the instructor told him to look at him while they were talking. And he could understand that Bruce had just had a little son and he had a lack of sleep. That was obvious. Bruce laughed a little; he specified that he hadn’t slept for three nights. His voice was rather nervous and the expressions of his
face were exaggerated.
